Attendance & Regalia Information

All Faculty are welcome to attend the December Recognition Event:

Saturday, December 20, 2008
11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - Formal Program
12:30 - 1:30 p.m. - Reception
Barton Hall

We encourage participation in the formal procession, wearing regalia or you may attend as part of the audience.

Ceremony Instructions

If you plan to process, please arrive at the Teagle Hall side of Barton Hall and turn right, just inside the entrance. Continue walking towards the right side of the room to join the Faculty Section for the procession. Ushers will be wearing red jackets to direct you, so feel free to ask where you are to line up for the procession.

Attendance & Regalia

To help us with our planning, we need to know if you will participate in the formal procession, wearing regalia. Faculty may borrow regalia (cap, gown & hood), at no charge, and return it that afternoon to Barton Hall, Blockhouse.

Fill out the registration form here to indicate your attendance and regalia needs.

Please do not duplicate this order. In the past both faculty members and administrative support staff have ordered faculty regalia. Because we reserve the outfits for you, we quickly run out of regalia to accomodate all who wish to participate when duplications occur.

Regalia Pickup

To pick up your ordered cap, gown and hood, go to Teagle Hall, Multi-purpose Room. Enter Teagle from the parkling lot between Lynah Rink and Teagle, turn left and go to the end of the hallway.

Thursday, December 13, 2007 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Friday, December 14, 2007, 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.
Saturday, December 15, 2007, 9:00-10:00 a.m.

We encourage you to consider going to the distribution site yourself to try on the mortar board and gown to ensure the correct size. The Commencement Office does not have the staff available to deliver or pick up your borrowed regalia.

As always, this distribution process is coordinated and manned strictly by Cornell University staff volunteers. Thank you for assisting the Office of Commencement Events in making this process as smooth as possible.

Regalia Return on Saturday

Please return your borrowed regalia on Saturday, inside Barton Hall, immediately following the event on Saturday. Look for the Faculty Return area, close to where you will lineup for the procession.

Parking Information

Central campus will be open to all traffic and parking will be available to all, no matter what area your permit is for.
