Faculty Regalia

All Cornell faculty are welcome to attend the 141st Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 24, 2009, and encouraged to participate in the formal procession, wearing regalia.

Please report to the Arts Quad, wearing regalia, by 9:15a Sunday morning.

If you have your own regalia, there are no forms to complete.

If you need regalia, you may borrow an outfit at no cost to you. Click here to complete the Faculty Regalia Form. Please complete the form by May 18.

Please avoid duplicating this order. In the past, both faculty members and administrative support staff have ordered. Because we reserve the outfits for you, we quickly run out of regalia to accomodate all who wish to participate when duplications occur.

We encourage faculty members to consider going to the distribution site yourself to try on a cap and gown to make sure of the correct sizes.

If you realize between now and Friday, May 22, that you will not be needing the regalia you reserved, please call the Commencement Office, 255-9541 to inform the staff so that another faculty member may use the regalia. Thank you for your cooperation.

The distribution process is coordinated and manned strictly by Cornell University staff volunteers. Unfortunately the Commencement Office does not have the staff available to deliver or pick up your borrowed regalia. Thank you for assisting the Commencement Office in making this process run as smooth as possible.

Pickup

To pick up your ordered cap, gown and hood, go to Bartels Hall Class of '44 Room, on the first floor across from the ticket office just inside the front entrance.

Return on Sunday

Please make every effort to return your loaned regalia on Sunday, to Bartels Hall, Class of '44 room, on the first floor across from the ticket office just inside the front entrance between noon and 4:00 p.m.

After Sunday, please return outfits as soon as possible to B13 Day Hall, NOT Bartels Hall.

How To Purchase Custom Regalia

Faculty wishing to purchase a tassel, cap, gown, and/or hood must order by March 9, 2009, to allow 8 to 12 weeks for delivery. To order go to http://www.herff-jones.com/college/cornell.

Parking Information on Commencement Day

Central campus will be closed to ALL traffic from 8:00a-3:00p on Commencement Day ONLY.

Buses will be running continuous routes across campus 7:00a-5:00p from A-Lot, through West Campus, central Campus, and to B-Lot.

For access to the Arts Quad early Sunday morning, use the bus and get off at the stop by Rand Hall or Goldwin Smith Hall.
